Roger Medhurst

Roger joined the School Improvement Service from a primary school headship in south-east London in 1990. Apart from 3 years when he lived and taught in Central Africa, he has spent most of his teaching career in primary schools in London and in particular in Bermondsey and Walworth.

Roger has responsibility for a range of primary phase issues and coordinates the support that advisory teachers provide to schools. He coordinates the advice, guidance and support that is offered by a team of general inspectors to schools in the southern half of the borough.

He also carries out the roles of Primary Strategy Manager and Primary School Improvement Professional Manager for the borough.
