Your opinions aired and questions answered in our online discussion forums and consultations.
We regularly consult local people on a wide range of policies, plans and proposals affecting the local community. Some of these consultations are statutory. That is, we are obliged to consult you by law.
However, many other consultations reflect a genuine desire to know what you think about what we are doing or planning to do.
We often need to consult residents on their views of our services being provided and their views of the local area.
The Panel is made up of a representative sample of 1,000 local residents from across the borough who, from time to time, are asked to take part in questionnaires and discussion groups about local issues.
What are we doing right and how can we improve.
Adult and Community Services User/Carer Forum|
The aim of the forum is to encourage as many users and their carers to come along and share their views and opinions on the services we provide. It's also a useful way of providing customers with information and advice.
The Barking and Dagenham Youth Forum is an opportunity for young people to have their say on local issues, make changes in their community and take responsibility for decisions that affect their lives.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Forum|
The Forum consists of a wide cross-section of individuals from the community and organisations that have come together to engage with the council and the Barking and Dagenham Partnership.
Community Housing Partnerships|
Council tenants now have a bigger say on the way that their homes are managed.
The electoral register is the list of everyone who is entitled to vote. It is updated every year using details from the registration form you receive each Autumn from your local council.
Councillors run the council on behalf of the community. They make all the major decisions about Council policy, services and finances. They are advised by officers, who implement their decisions and operate the council on a day-to-day basis. We have made it easy for you to find out who your councillors are, and how to contact them.

We are committed to making sure that we use customer feedback to help us improve services, focus on the needs of customers, and increase customer satisfaction with our services.
