How do I book a sports pitch?

How do I book the arena or pavilion?

Call Barking and Dagenham Direct on 020 8215 3000.

How do I pay for hiring a pitch in summer?

You can pay by debit or credit card by calling Barking and Dagenham Direct on 020 8215 3000.

You can also pay by cheque or cash at the Civic Centre or Barking Town Hall, or at any of the borough's leisure centres. You will need to take your receipt to the match and show it to the attendant.

How do I pay for hiring a pitch in winter?

For winter contracts there are 2 payment arrangements:

Full payment by 1 October (you will get a 15% discount on this); or
6 payments, starting on 1 September and then the first of every month until 1 February (you will get a 10% discount on this)

You can also pay by cheque or cash at the Civic Centre or Barking Town Hall. You should always pay against the correct invoice number (this will be on the contract you have filled in).

How do I pay for my booking?

After you have made your booking, we will send you an invoice for the total cost. Half the amount is due immediately and the rest is due 1 month before your hire date.

If you make your booking less than 1 month before the hire date, you will need to pay the total hire fee immediately.

How much is it to hire a football pitch?

Please call park sports booking on 020 8215 3000. The hire is for the length of the game (for example, a football pitch will usually be hired for 1 hour and 45 minutes).

How much is it to hire the arena or pavilion?

Please call park sports booking on 020 8215 3000. Please note that Old Dagenham Bowls Pavilion is only available for hire from October to March.

What sporting events is the Mayesbrook Arena equipped for?

The arena is equipped to deal with most track and field events. For a current list of available equipment, please call park sports booking on 020 8215 3000.

What sports pitches are available for hire?

Currently, we only hire out football pitches. These pitches are in the parks across the borough.

When are the pitches available for hire?

Pitches are available for hire all through the winter season and on request through the summer season.

You will need to fill in a contract whenever you hire a pitch, which you can get by calling our park sports bookings team on 020 8215 3000.

When does the winter season run from and to?

The winter season normally runs from the first week in September until the third week in March.

The season is 30 weeks long and you can hire pitches every week or every other week.
