You will have a special telephone that plugs into your existing telephone line and a panic button (usually a pendant).
There is a small weekly fee for this service however those on benefit or income support will receive it for free.
You will need a plug socket and a phone socket within 6 feet of each other on same wall.
The Careline scheme has been set up for frail and elderly people throughout the borough who may need help at any time during the day or night.
This system has priority over any other activity and we deal with all incoming calls immediately.

Careline alarm monitoring, Council sheltered-housing monitoring, Private sheltered-housing monitoring and Bogus callers scheme.
We will try to help you whatever the problem is, such as calling an ambulance, doctor or district nurse.
We do not give you any medication, make your meals for you or put you to bed. If you have a contact person, we will call them for you.
If you are on Income Support or Housing Benefit, the Careline system is free.
