The Chief Executive is the statutory 'head of the paid service' of the council, and is responsible for the management of our staff, services and operations, as well as setting the strategic direction for the authority and its partners with elected councillors.
The Adult and Community Services Department promotes the independence and well-being of adults and older people, joining social care with health initiatives across the area.
The Children's Services Department promotes the well-being of children.
Customer Services brings all of our main front-line teams together which means we now deliver a range of key services for you and with you in mind.

The Regeneration Department works with the community, voluntary sector, local businesses, government and public sector organisations to regenerate Barking and Dagenham's physical environment, strengthen its economy and create greater opportunity for families and individuals.
The Resources Department leads and supports the council in the development of efficient and effective services for our local community.
