Environmental and Enforcement Services

Environmental and Enforcement Services plays a lead role in making sure that our borough is cleaner, greener and safer.

Waste Management, Refuse Collection, Transport, Grounds Maintenance, Fleet maintenance, Cleansing and Recycling

Waste management and transport is responsible for collecting our residents black bag waste and orange bag recyclables and includes street cleansing, grounds maintenance and fleet maintenance.

Envirocrime, Parking, Enforcement, Abandoned Vehicles, Street Wardens and Noise Patrol

Whilst some teams are busy keeping the streets clean, our enforcement teams tackle environmental crime. Covering illegal parking, abandoned vehicles and noise nuisance they are ready to prosecute and take action when needed.

You may have heard of the great work the Street Wardens are doing. They are pro-actively targeting areas in their 'blitz it' campaigns, re-actively cleaning up environmental crime and issuing fines to those who offend.

Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Housing Fitness

Environmental Health covers all environmental services, Trading Standards, housing standards and fitness.

Together this service area is focused on providing key services to the residents and tenants of Barking and Dagenham and has the power to take action against those individuals who commit environmental crime.
