We offer a pre-application advice service before making an application. A fee for pre-application advice is payable for certain types of applications. There is no charge for pre-application advice for householder applications and some other minor developments (refer to the above guidance note for further details).
Where a pre-application fee is payable then you should follow the procedure set out in the 
Charging for Pre-Application Advice Guidance Note.
Where a pre-application fee is not applicable, pre-application advice can simply be obtained by writing to the development management team with a sketch outlining what you would like to do. We would expect to answer your letter within a fortnight of receipt. Alternatively you can telephone for advice during office hours.
