The Council is consulting on its Draft Charging Schedule from 15 March to 26 April 2013, under Section 16 of the CIL Regulations. All comments received will be fully considered before the draft charging schedule is submitted to the Secretary of State prior to an examination in public (EIP).
The schedule sets out the council's proposed rates of CIL, how it will be calculated and where it intends to make certain exemptions. When the Draft Charging Schedule is submitted for CIL examination, it must be backed up with evidence on economic viability and infrastructure planning including:
- The adopted Local Development Framework Core Strategy and Site Specific Allocations
- London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Community Infrastructure Plan 2012/13 – 2025/26
- Economic Viability Assessment, Affordable Housing and Community Infrastructure Levy/S106, GVA January 2012

The Draft Charging Schedule is open for consultation between 15 March and 26 April 2013. All comments should be received in writing by 5pm on 26 April 2013, when the consultation will close.

Representations may be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of any of the following:
i. That the draft charging schedule has been submitted to the examiner in accordance with section 212 of PA 2008;
ii. The publication of the recommendations of the examiner and the reasons for those recommendations; and
iii. The approval of the charging schedule by the charging authority.
