The Vibe

Youth arts, information and more

The Vibe is the home of youth activities for young people aged 13-19 years.

Barking and Dagenham Youth Support and Development Service at The Vibe offers young people the chance to be involved in exciting and challenging projects (many of these enable young people to gain accreditation).

  • In the event of the fire alarm, all staff and users of the Vibe must exit the building immediately by nearest emergency exit.

All emergency exit routes/doors are wheelchair accessible and directions clearly signposted.

    The fire emergency exits are:

    • Staff kitchen area
    • Door at far end of corridor by staff offices (near photocopier)
    • Doors at rear of building - in Becontree Avenue
    • Main Entrance
    • Exit door in Youth Activities Room

The Assembly Point in the event of a fire alarm for staff and users of The Vibe, is the corner of Becontree Avenue and School Way at PC Systems Repair shop.

All staff holding sessions and responsible for young people, please ensure their area/room is clear before exiting the building (if safe to do so), and that project signing in sheets are taken outside.

The project leaders holding sessions must check their project signing in sheets to ensure all their young people are accounted for after exiting the building, by checking off the registers.

When exiting the building in an emergency, please ensure both the signing in books (kept at reception desk) are collected by a member of staff passing reception area. The signing in sheets must be used to check everyone is out of the building and is accounted for.

Ensure all part-time staff and all users with room bookings, young people or general public (if on premises) using the building are informed of, and are aware of, the fire exits and emergency evacuation procedures.

Fire blanket is located in staff kitchen area. All fire equipment and instructions in place around the building.
