If you are making a brand new claim or re-claiming Income Support, Job seeker's Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance you can make your claim for Housing Benefit at your local Job Centre Plus office. Please contact your local authority to make a claim for Council Tax Support as this can no longer be done at the Job Centre Plus.
Job Centre Plus will take you through the questions for any of these benefits. This means that you will not have to fill in a separate claim form for Housing Benefit, however you will for Council Tax Support.
You will have to provide us with proof of income for any other adults who live with you.
If you are a private tenant you will also have to provide us with proof of your rent.
