I was born in Benin city capital of Edo state in Nigeria in a predominant egalitarian society. I have been married to my wife Mercy for 25 years and have 4 children, 3 boys and a girl.
As I grew I became very active in establishing community development projects in the area, this quest to help my community in a more positive manner. I entered into active politics to help build the Nigerian republican convention, a defunct political party in Nigeria.
I emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1990 and continued my community based service. I joined the Labour Party movement in Hackney where I was a resident and actively participated as the party won several by-elections.
On moving to Barking and Dagenham over 7 years ago, I continued to participate actively in community service, and was nominated as parent governor of Dagenham Park Community School and later local authority governor of the same school and Becontree Primary School - a post I still hold.
I also served as River Ward mini secretary of the Labour Party and am the ethnic minority representative of Dagenham and Rainham Constituency Labour Party.
My election as Councillor came in May 2006 as I continued to work relentlessly for the good of my community.
Outside my political activities I am a devoted Christian and Pastor at the Church of God Mission International, whose church has been greatly involved with my community based projects and activities for the youth and elderly.
