Electoral Registration

Your vote - Use it, don't lose it!

Politics whether national, local or European govern our lives.

Your opinions do count and are always considered before any decisions are made by councillors.

The borough is made up of 2 Parliamentary constituencies Barking and Dagenham. This is split into 17 wards with 3 councillors elected for each ward. For European Elections we form part of the London Region and for Greater London Authority and Mayor for London we form part of the City and East Constituency.

At local council level decisions by the elected members can have a dramatic effect on our environment, whether it affects education, trading standards, crime, parking, leisure, housing, in fact almost everything that impacts on our daily lives comes about because of the local council.

Most of our revenue comes from national government and we operate within laws and guidelines set nationally.

Make sure you exercise your right to vote in all elections. If you can not get to the polling station in person why not apply for a postal vote?
