Electoral Registration

British citizens living overseas

If you are a British citizen living overseas you can apply to vote in UK and European parliamentary elections in the constituency where you were last registered to vote in the UK, provided that it is not more than 15 years since you were last registered in the UK.

If your last place of registration in the UK was in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, you can apply to us to be registered to vote here.

British citizens living overseas can apply for a postal vote or proxy vote.

When choosing a postal vote to be sent overseas you should understand that you may not get your ballot paper in time for you to send it back to the UK before the close of poll on election day.

Any postal votes received after the close of poll will not be counted.
