We have tried to make all our polling stations accessible for electors with disabilities. Sometimes this entails using temporary ramps and also different entrances to buildings. At all times you can ask for assistance to gain access to the polling place.
Inside each polling station are large format versions of the ballot paper. Every polling station also has a disabled polling booth which is wider and has a lower shelf than other booths.
Voters with a sight impairment can use a special device which when placed on the ballot paper enables them to mark their own votes. Any voter who has a disability can ask the Presiding Officer in the polling station to allow a companion to assist them. The Presiding Officer can also assist.
Everyone is subject to a legal requirement to maintain the secrecy of the electors vote.
