The 'Supporting you through tough times' handbook outlines all the support available to you during the recession.
It pinpoints the wide range of support and advice available to residents and businesses and could be a lifeline for the many local families and firms which are being affected by the economic downturn.
The handbook has been produced in partnership with Job Centre Plus, Citizens Advice Bureau, Barking and Dagenham Enterprise and other local and national partners.
The handbook contains information and contact points to help everyone who lives and works in the borough - from parents with young children through to pensioners who may need help to claim the benefits they are entitled to.
It covers areas such as debt advice, redundancy, setting up a basic bank account, employment, energy saving and the impact on families of financial stress.
This information can also be downloaded as a handbook.
