Since September 2005 all children under the age of 16 can travel for free on London buses and trams.
Children who are 14 or 15 can travel free with a Child Oyster photocard. Children who look under the age of 14 can travel free on London's buses and trams without a photocard.
Application forms for a child Oyster photocard are available at all Post Offices in Greater London and areas just beyond the boundary that are served by the London bus network.
Pupils must apply for a travel photocard before their 16th birthday.
From September 2006 it is hoped that free travel on buses will be extended to all under 18 year olds in full time education.
In some cases students with a special educational need or a disability can apply for travel support to help towards the cost of travel to school.
Please contact Jackie Chamberlain, Home to School Travel Officer, at the address shown if your child has special educational needs and you require further help with home to school travel support.
Students with a short term or long term incapacity can also apply for travel support. If you require this support please fill out the application form for transport arising from short term illness or injury or long term illness or injury and email back to Jackie Chamberlain, Home to School Travel Officer.
