Free School Meals
All schools have been asked to take special care to ensure that neither parents/carers nor children are caused embarrassment when applying for and receiving free school meals.
How to apply for free school meals
You need to complete an application form and send it to the address shown. With your completed application form you must include proof, not more than 3 months old, that you are receiving these benefits:
- Child Benefit (proof: child benefit letter or recent bank statement)
Plus one of the following:
- Income support (proof: recent Job Centre Plus letter)
- Income based job seekers allowance (proof: recent Job Centre Plus letter)
- Child Tax Credit (proof: award notice (TC602) from the HM Revenue and Customs)
- Guaranteed part of Pension Credit (proof: Award notice M1000)
If you don't have copies of the proof required, you can ask Job Centre Plus to complete the reverse side of the application form before you send it to us.
