Tenancy Succession and Benefit Issues
This review took place between June and October 2001 and was carried out by a group of 4 Members and 2 Co-opted Members.
This Panel looked at the problems caused when Council letters were mistakenly sent to a deceased resident threatening court action over rent and council tax arrears.
It examined the procedures and systems used and recommended improvements to prevent such letters being sent and the emotional consequences for relatives.
