Stour Road Accommodation

This review took place between May and August 2002 and was carried out by 4 Members and an external representative.

In February 2002, the Scrutiny Management Board heard about important issues affecting the Revenue Service in Finance. These included problems in providing services to the public, such as dealing with telephone enquiries, reception facilities and the provision of public toilets.

The Board therefore set up this Scrutiny Panel to look at the accommodation pressures and associated working arrangements in the Stour Road offices from which the service operates.

The Panel concluded that the whole building requires refurbishment both for customers and staff and its recommendations covered improving customer service facilities and working conditions.
