Policy Commissions investigate policy issues, particularly those relating to the social, economic or environmental well-being of the borough, taking all opportunities to draw on a broad range of knowledge and views.
A Policy Commission usually involves 6 Members and completes its work in a 3 to 6 month period. It then presents a report, including its findings and recommendations, to the Assembly for approval. The report is then made publicly available.
After the report is approved and published, the recommendations are put into effect and their progress is checked on a regular basis.
