The Assembly

 

The Assembly, our senior body, comprises all 51 Members and is led by the 'Chair of the Assembly' (a councillor).

 

Its main duties are to:

• Set council policy, budgets and council tax
• Hold the Executive to account
• Consider issues raised by Scrutiny

Its other features include:

• Leader's Question Time
• Debates on major local issues
