Emergency Planning

The Barking and Dagenham Borough Emergency Plan

About our Emergency Plan

The Plan is designed to be used by officers trained in Emergency Planning. Therefore, you may find parts of the Plan more difficult to understand.

If you need further explanation please contact a member of the Emergency Planning Team who will be pleased to help.

Details the local authority response procedures following a request for Council assistance from any of the Emergency Services.

Such a request is likely to be in consequence of a major disaster or Incident that requires the special mobilisation or coordination of borough resources.

Sections of the Plan can also be used in the event of incidents not called by the Emergency Services and not falling under the definition of a 'Major Incident' but still requiring a larger than normal response from our resources.

The aim is to ensure an integrated and coordinated approach to any incident. The Plan has been kept in a simple format to ensure that those who read it are not overwhelmed with too much detail.
