You will find information on the Councils plans to respond to emergencies within the borough and within London.
The plan is designed to be used by officers trained in Emergency Planning. Therefore, you may find parts of the plan more difficult to understand.
If you need further explanation please contact a member of the Emergency Planning Team who will be pleased to help.
Details the local authority response procedures following a request for Council assistance from any of the Emergency Services.
Such a request is likely to be in consequence of a major emergency or incident that requires the special mobilisation or coordination of borough resources.
The aim is to ensure an integrated and coordinated approach to any incident. The plan has been kept in a simple format to ensure that those who read it are not overwhelmed with too much detail.
We have several statutory responsibilities under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004) which need to be provided during an emergency.
It is important that the Council has the ability to coordinate and establish an adequate response within a short time frame - this is where the plan helps.
