The Community Development Team seek to support and enable people from all backgrounds to become active and engaged citizens in stronger communities.
We work in partnership utilising our resources, local service provision, lifelong learning, regeneration and other funds to deliver this.
We are developing a Community Development Toolkit / Consultation Strategy for the council.
We are our lead department on the implementation of the Local Compact. At present we are focused on:
A Community Development Officer (Voluntary Sector) and Grants Officer administer the annual corporate grant budget to voluntary groups in the borough.
A budget for Gifted and Talented Young People is also available for young people residing in the borough.
We have a close working relationship with equalities and diversity, on various joint projects.
