Formerly the Westbury Infant School built in 1904, the building reopened as a teacher's centre in 1971 and is now home to the School Improvement Service.
The School Improvement Service works in partnership with schools offering support and guidance. It also works with other council departments and institutions to improve opportunities for learning for people of all ages in the borough.
The Professional Development Centre is located on Level 3 and is a major training venue for teachers and employees within the council. The Centre has 7 training rooms, which are equipped with up to date presentation technology.
The training programme for teachers is steered by Workforce Development and Governor Support and Governor Training.
