ICT Test Bed Project

 

Barking and Dagenham were 1 of 3 local education authority's to be selected by the Department for Children, Schools and Families to be part of the £20 million ICT Test Bed Project which ran until September 2006.

 

This project was designed to demonstrate the impact that high levels of investment in ICT can have on:

The 4 year project directly involved 3 secondary schools and 6 primary schools, although all schools in the borough benefited through the re-distribution of funding, developed procurement routes and the numerous technical, procedural and educational outputs from a major project.

The project also included Barking and Dagenham College who worked with all schools on a range of exciting activities including digital content creation, large format printing, digital photography and 3D rapid prototyping.

 

Across the cluster of 9 schools and Barking and Dagenham College, there was a range of activities aimed at widening community participation.
