ICT in Schools

 

The ICT in Schools Team provides a full range of curriculum support for schools.

 

This includes school based support for ICT coordinators and classroom teachers, help with policy statements and ICT development programmes and advice and guidance on resourcing.

 

The team is part of the Children's Services IT Section, which includes the IT Support Unit and the City Learning Centre.

Barking and Dagenham technology solution for interactive whole class teaching, including the visualiser.

Purchasing and supplies

The team supplies schools with all standard consumable items, and provides a central purchasing facility for all new items of hardware and software. There is an online catalogue and shopping cart feature to enable online ordering, available through the Learning Gateway website.

 

Westbury Centre

The team works from offices at the Westbury Centre in Barking and has a modern IT training room with multimedia Window Boxes, Research Machines Community Connect 3 Workstations and standard XP computers, all with large screen display. There is also interactive classroom teaching technology including a visualiser and a wireless slate.

Since September 2002, all schools have been able to access a range of services online through the Learning Gateway website:
