Sports Development

Quest Award

Quest is an industry standard developed by Sport England and measures specific elements of sports development work including research, management, customer service and partnership working.

The last time the team was assessed in 2003 we scored 72% which is still the top score of the London boroughs who have achieved Quest accreditation. January 2005 saw the Unit's second assessment which involved a 2 day visit from an assessor, speaking both to staff members, volunteers, partners and users of the Sports Development service. This time the team earned 78% which has promoted the Unit to the Highly Commended Category.

The team's final score was ratified by the panel and confirmed that we were placed 6th nationally and still 1st overall in London. This is out of 42 teams that have achieved accreditation.

The whole point of Quest is continuous assessment and demonstrating that we are always working towards improving the service both internally and externally. The assessor was impressed overall with what she saw and one of her main comments was that we don't shout enough about the good work that we do.

We will have an annual maintenance visit and be reassessed again in 2 years time.
