Points of interest

The Millennium Centre is a visitor and education centre which opened in 1997. It is the best example in the borough of an environmentally friendly 'building of the future'.

The Eastbrookend Country Park was once gravel pits and a dumping ground, today it is an attractive area of lakes, grassy banks and bushy areas.

Please call 020 8595 4155 for opening hours.

Step by Step - Eastbrookend Country Park Walk

From the Millennium Centre car par, off Dagenham Road, enter the Eastbrookend Country Park through the gate on the right side of the car park. From here turn right and follow the footpath past The Farmhouse Tavern public house.

Continue along this path, round the bend and past the gate on the right. Take the last path on the left to walk over the mound. (Alternatively for wheelchair users take the footpath before the mound and carry onto the Wheelers Pond on the right).

On the right there is a small pond (Wheelers Pond) and on the left a predominately willow woodland (The Grove). Take the path on your left, over the boardwalk and past Tom Thumb Lake.

At the end of the lake take the path to the right. Carry on along this path and walk over or around the viewing mound. Continue on past the Bardag Lake taking the first path on the left.

Walk to the end of this path and turn left, following the path back to the Millennium Centre.

At the Millennium Centre feel free to come in, browse, ask questions and purchase refreshments.
