Skylarks and Meadow Pipits - these breed in the summer on Boyers Lake.
Kingfishers - these can be seen in the winter along with various ducks and dragonflies (in the summer).
Keeping fit means a better quality of life, with more energy for every day activities and feeling generally less tired.
The pillbox and tank trap are left over from World War II. The tank traps were put in place to stop the advancing German Army if an invasion happened.

Tube: Dagenham East District Line.
From Dagenham East Station, Rainham Road South turn right. Cross over at the pedestrian crossing, turn right and take the first turning on the left (Western Avenue).
Continue down this road and take the second turning on the left and the footpath to the right. Walk in between the houses and the lake and continue along this path.
Keeping the green fence and the tank traps to your left walk past the first squeeze gate and continue along this path to the entrance at the end. Follow the path to the left and pass the WWII pill box (now a bat cave) on the right.
Continue along the tarmac path and enjoy the beautiful scenery until you reach the railway line. Where the path splits take the left path keeping the railway line on your right.
Keep walking along this path passing Boyers Lake on your left. Continue along this path until you reach the end.
Turn right out of the exit gate, back onto Rainham Road South, with the station opposite you to your right.
