By following our extremely simple tips you can greatly reduce the amount of waste your household produces with minimal effort.

30% of your waste is packaging - always choose the least packaged option when shopping (for example buy loose fruit and vegetables at the supermarket)
Reuse carrier bags or use a proper bag instead
Stop junk mail - contact the Mailing Preference Service on 020 7291 3300 and use one of our 'no junk mail' stickers on your front door
Get milk delivered in reusable glass bottles instead of buying it in plastic bottles or cartons
Buy recycled products where available, for example stationery, toilet tissue
Buy rechargeable batteries instead of single-use batteries
Store food in reusable lidded containers instead of using foil or cling film
