This document sets out a number of potential sites for future development and protection in the borough (excluding Barking Town Centre) in-line with the Core Strategy. It considers sites for such purposes as housing, employment, open space, transport and facilities that support people and communities (such as schools and medical centres).
We recently finished the first stage of consultation on the Site Specific Allocations Development Plan Document - the 'issues and options' stage. Consultation took place from 30 June 2008 to 11 August 2008. Sites put forward as possible locations for new development or protection and any other comments submitted are being assessed and will be further consulted on in the next stage of consultation.
As a result of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 (
PDF 98K), the Council considers that the new Regulation 25 consultation requirement has been complied with during the 'issues and options' consultation. As such, we will go directly to pre-submission consultation which is scheduled for Spring 2009.
We are using a new online system to record your views, called Limehouse consultation.
There are also benefits to you of using it such as instant updates of new documents available for consultation, ability to view other consultees' representations, and the ability to update your personal details instantly such as changes of address or email. Responding online also has as environmental benefits as it saves paper.
