The next consultation stage on the Core Strategy and Borough Wide Development Policies will begin in June 2008.

This will be the 'submission' stage for both documents - and the final chance for you to comment on them before the government appoints an independent inspector to consider them at an Examination in Public in 2009.

Consultation on our Barking town centre area action plan issues and options report ended on Friday 10 August 2007.

The comments that we received will now be used to produce the draft preferred options for the Barking town centre area action plan, and you will have an opportunity to comment on this document in June 2008.

We are in the process of preparing the site specific allocations development plan document. You will have a chance to comment on the issues and options stage of this document in June 2008.

April 2008

The Local Development Scheme has now been approved by the Government.
