Permits are required for parking in specified parking places within controlled parking zones. These zones are indicated by zone entry signs and different zones will be indicated by different letters being displayed on signs, which must match the letters displayed on permits.
Permits may be purchased by post, by writing to Parking Services at the address shown or by visiting the Barking Learning Centre, One Stop Shop, 2 Town Square, Barking, IG11 7NB.

If you have a parking permit, it is important to acknowledge that this does not guarantee you a parking space for your vehicle.
Permits are only valid for use in the zones for which they have been purchased / issued and drivers are advised to check all signs along the roadside before parking - to ensure your vehicle is parked in the right zone.
Parking permits are not available to those that reside in 'car free' developments.

As it is the responsibility of the permit holder to re-new their permit promptly, a vehicle displaying an out-of-date permit is liable for being issued with a penalty charge notice.
