Parking

CCTV enforcement

In partnership with Transport for London, we use CCTV cameras to enforce vehicles that violate bus lane regulations throughout the borough, in order to help improve bus journey times.

CCTV cameras are located across the borough and are also used to enforce parking regulations, traditionally enforced by Parking Attendants, including vehicles contravening footway parking bans, loading restrictions, pedestrian crossings and bus stops.

When a vehicle is captured by CCTV for contravening a parking regulation, a penalty charge notice is sent by post to who we believe is the registered keeper of the vehicle.

At locations where CCTV cameras are used for enforcement, information signage is placed. In the case of the enforcement of parking regulations, this is carried out in accordance with the times of the relevant controlled parking zone.

SMART car|

The borough's hi-tech SMART car is there to ensure the safety of road users and pedestrians and enforces traffic and motoring offences.
