Amenity Green Trees

Amenity green trees are classed as trees which can be found on the grassed areas in front of and around housing estates, around council owned flats and on the corners of roads.

Amenity trees enhance the character of estates by providing screening and adding colour.

Planned work schedules

Amenity green trees are subjected to a 6 year inspection and pruning cycle. If you would like to request an interim inspection for health and safety concerns, please email trees@lbbd.gov.uk.

Please provide your details along with the location of the tree in question.

Specific programmes for Housing Trees include:

For specific details of when a particular road is scheduled to be pruned, please see our Cyclical Housing Pruning Schedule (available shortly).

Amenity tree planting

Amenity greens are noted and commended for their tree planting. These open areas generally have better soil conditions than roadsides, so amenity trees tend to fare better. Amenity areas can take a wider selection of tree species than highways.

If you have an amenity area near you and you would like to see a tree or more trees planted there, please email trees@lbbd.gov.uk giving the location.

The site will be inspected, considered and you will be notified of the outcome. For more information, visit the tree planting web page.
