Green Flag Award Scheme

 

The Green Flag Award is the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales. The award scheme began in 1996 as a means of recognising and rewarding the best green spaces in the country.

 

The award recognises park environment's which are welcoming, safe, well maintained and valued places for local people and visitors alike.

 

Eastbrookend Country Park and the Millennium Centre in Dagenham have been involved in the scheme since 1998 and are proud to have won the award 7 times. The prestigious award has also been achieved by Newlands Park in Barking.

 

The awards demonstrate our continuing commitment to working with the local community and providing high quality parks in the borough.
