The borough's first BMX track, in Old Dagenham Park, opened in November 2005. The track is an 8-person regional size track with a large start hill and a variety of challenging jumps and humps.
BMX Racing is a new Olympic sport, featuring in the 2008 Beijing Games. It will also be featured in the Lee Valley as part of the 2012 London Olympics. A BMX bike is a smaller version of a mountain bike with only 1 gear.
