Applying for British Citizenship

If you are applying for British Citizenship then you will be pleased to know that a checking service is now available at Arden House Register Office (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and from the Barking Learning Centre, One Stop Shop (Monday to Friday).

How we can help you

We will provide application forms, which you can collect
We will check your forms are properly completed
We will check, copy and certify your supporting documents so they remain in your safekeeping and you don't have to send in your passport
We will secure the swift submission of your application

Do I need to attend or can someone come for me?

All adult applicants need to attend in person.

Once I have applied how long will it take for me to receive my naturalisation?

You will need to consult the Home Office website for current waiting times.

Where can I take the test?

Nationality Checking Service fees

Single adult application - £45 per person

Married couple application - £90 (£45 per person)

Children application - £45 for each individual child

(All fees include VAT)

Refunds and Lateness

If you need to cancel or rebook an application, please ensure that you give a minimum of 5 clear working days notice to ensure a refund if cancelling or to rebook without paying again.

Please arrive promptly for your appointments - failure to do so may result in your appointment being rescheduled and an extra booking fee being charged. If you arrive late, we are unable to guarantee you will be seen that day, and you may be re-charged for another booking.

Applicants wishing to use the Checking Service will need to make a personal visit, by appointment only.
