Citizenship Ceremonies

What you will need in order to use the checking service when applying for naturalisation.

You have a fully completed application form for each applicant ready for checking
You have taken the Life in the UK test or English for Speakers of Other Languages with Citizenship, and have the original pass letter/certificate with you, unless you are exempt, in which case you must provide the appropriate documentation
You have Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK (for a minimum period of 1 year, unless you are married to a British citizen)
You are applying under the 5 or 3 year criteria and have all the correct documentary evidence to support this. Please refer to your Home Office Guide or call the Nationality Enquiries Team on 0845 010 5200 for specific information
If you are making a joint application as a married couple, you must have your marriage certificate (with English translation if necessary) in order to benefit from the reduced fees
If applying for a child aged between 10 years and 17 years, a character reference from their school or college is required
You have the means by which to pay the Home Office fees (we are unable to accept cash)
