The guide provides advice on:

There is no price tag on the book, because Independent Age believes as many people as possible should be able to have access to the very important information it contains. However we do ask for a donation to support Independent Ages work.

Patricia Routledge CBE

"As Vice President of Independent Age I often hear of the worries older people have about losing their independence. The 60-Wise! guide from Independent Age is an important source of information which I believe will be most helpful to someone you care about who is beginning to find it difficult to cope."

Joan Bakewell, journalist and broadcaster

"This book is invaluable. It sets out - with great clarity and simplicity - to show older people how to help themselves. I could even do with a copy myself."

Independent Age

Since 1863 Independent Age has helped older people who have dedicated their lives to the needs of others. Typically, they have lived fit and active lives and are still able to look after themselves.

But now they are left struggling to survive on very low incomes. Many of these older people have no family or friends who can help them and their situation is truly desperate.

Often Independent Age is the only place left to turn. We have a network of volunteers across the country who visit them at home to offer friendship and the very important emotional support that regular contact brings.

Independent Age helps older people to enjoy many more fulfilling years in their own homes by providing financial support. In many cases we step in with small grants or annuities to help them stretch their meager pensions. With Independent Ages support they can hold on to the independence that means so much.

Can we help someone you know?. Please telephone 0845 758 5680.
