Adult and Community Services

Adult Intake and Access Team

Do you, or someone you look after, need help with:

The Adult and Community Services Department can offer information, advice and assistance through our Adult Intake and Access Team.

Who is the Adult Intake and Access Team for?

At present it is for adults and older people.

Reducing 'red tape' and making a call to Adult and Community Services quick and easy

People usually contact Adult and Community Services because they need advice or help either for themselves or for a friend or relative. They may just need information and advice, or they may be very worried and not know what to do, or whether Adult and Community Services can help. In either case the Adult Intake and Access Team can provide timely, honest and helpful answers.

The Adult Intake and Access Team can help you:

Help for carers

The Adult Intake and Access Team cares about carers and will always treat informal carers with dignity and respect, and make no assumptions about their willingness and capacity to continue caring. It can provide information and advice, and arrange a 'carer assessment'.

Help when and where it's needed

The Adult Intake and Access Team is available during normal office hours by telephone.

The Adult Intake and Access Team and Care Management

The Adult Intake and Access Team provides direct advice and help. Where a person has complex, intensive or continuing care needs, the team will liaise with the right people, such as those who deal with mental health and intensive care within the community. It will ensure that the specialist team is aware of the level of need and urgency.

Standards

The Adult Intake and Access Team takes pride in providing a high quality service to local people. We regularly monitor how long it takes the team to answer the telephone and the level of satisfaction of callers. The majority of telephone calls are answered in less than 5 seconds.

The Adult Intake and Access Team welcomes comments, compliments and complaints. The team will listen to and learn from callers and service users. A response will be made to all calls and letters within 10 working days - however a same day or next day response is usual practice.
