Adult and Community Services

Fair access to care

The services 'fair access to care' applies to

Fair access to care does not cover services provided under the Road Traffic Act, by our Customer Services Department, or the NHS. Fair access to care will cover services, which other agencies provide for us.

People who Section 117 of the Mental Health Act 1983 applies to will normally have needs that make them eligible for community care services.

Our assessment of a carer's needs is based on separate government guidance and so is not covered by Fair Access to Care. If you are a carer, please ask your social worker for advice.
