Working for a dynamic and challenging local authority

Our ambitions, the quality of our services and the borough are all changing - and it's all change for the good.

Exciting new developments and a really committed staff team are helping to improve the quality of all the services we offer.

Our 'People Matter' programme is now a well-established staff support system which offers personal and career support and an opportunity to contribute to future service improvements.

We are gaining a well-deserved reputation for making sure that people can benefit from services that deal with their health and social care needs. We are introducing new borough-based Health and Social Care Services with the Primary Care Trust. This exciting new way of working also offers new opportunities for staff.

We have a joint health and social care management team, and a whole new way of planning and organising services. The Council and the NHS are working together at every level to make these changes successful.

We also have good working relationships with our other partners in the public and independent sectors. Together we are trying out new ideas all the time and are not afraid to adapt to get the best for local people.
