Welcome to our Carers Support page.
Our aim is to actively help all carers within the borough and to make sure they receive suitable support. Caring for someone can be very isolating that is why we work in partnership with a number of organisations providing a range of services, including information and advice.
Information and advice for anyone seeking help on being a carer.
Services and Support Groups for Carers|
Helps provide carers with an idea of the range of services available to them, and who to contact for further information. Once you have made contact with any of the organisations or people listed, they will give you a more detailed picture of the help available to suit your individual needs.
If you are under 18, and are looking after or help to look after someone there are a number of support groups who can help.
Support and Advice for Carers|
There are many ways for you to get help if you are a carer and look after a friend or relative, adult or child who is ill or disabled, who cannot manage without your help.
Provides details on how to contact organisations that offer advice and support on employment and training issues for disabled people and Carers.
Advocacy is a way of protecting and asserting your rights. At times carers may feel unable to voice their concerns and opinions to those responsible for providing care services, therefore an Advocate service may be appropriate.
Alternative Providers of Care|
Local agencies within the borough that are run on a private basis which can be contacted directly for services, providing that you are prepared to pay for the hourly rate.
