Tenant Participation
The small Tenant Participation team works with local people to promote resident involvement in planning, monitoring and improving our housing services.
It provides support to existing tenants' and residents' groups and other tenants' representatives and helps encourage new groups, working with residents on selected estates.
Its main responsibilities are:
- Helping tenants to gain the skills and confidence to enable them to be more meaningfully involved
- Supporting meetings to ensure they are well run and effective
- Administering start up and continuation grants
- Providing general help, guidance and advice about us and the way we work
There are a number of formal meetings where tenants and their representatives can meet us.
The borough has a number of Tenants' and Residents' Associations.

Working with the Tenants and Residents Federation
The Tenants Compact is now complete and has been printed. It is available in Borough Libraries, Barking Town Hall and at all Local Area Housing Offices.
