Gas Safety

Your landlord is legally required to have any gas installations within your property checked annually by a CORGI registered gas installer.

They are also required to have the gas installations checked before the beginning of a new tenancy. The landlord should provide you with an up to date Gas Safety Certificate when you move into the property and also when the annual inspection takes place.

If your Landlord is not having the gas installations checked and serviced annually then you should contact the Private Sector Housing Team who will discuss the situation with the landlord.

Carbon Monoxide - The silent killer

Carbon Monoxide can not be seen and can not be smelt but it can and does kill!

To safe guard you and your family from the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning a service on gas appliances must be carried out annually.

To ensure continued efficient and safe operation of a gas appliance it is very important that they are serviced annually.

We have to conform to strict legislations from the government's Health and Safety Executive.

The gas appliances within our properties are serviced annually. It is important that this service is carried out and if a card is left by one of the gas contractor it should not be ignored for the sake of you, your family and your neighbour.
