Grants of up to £2,700 towards the cost of heating and insulation works are available for residents in receipt of certain specified benefits. People 60 or over may also be eligible for the installation of central heating.
We do not provide these grants. They are provided by a government agency called the Eaga Partnership who can be contacted at:

In addition to the above, grants for a similar range of energy related improvements maybe available from the gas and electricity suppliers. These grants can be subject to change at quite short notice and council officers can have difficulty in keeping information up to date.
For this reason, if you are interested in receiving more information about their availability please contact:

It is recognised that living in a well insulated, efficiently heated dwelling is a major contributory factor to the good health and general well-being of residents.
In an attempt to achieve this we have adopted an affordable warmth strategy.
To assist residents to improve the heating and insulation of their homes grants may be available. These are described in more detail at energy efficiency grants.
We adopted an affordable warmth strategy in 1999. It is currently being reviewed.
