When we carry out major works to your home we try to arrange them so you can remain in your home whilst the works are being carried out.
In the very unlikely event that you have to leave your home temporarily, we will charge you the same rent you would have paid if you remained in your home.
Sometimes, the type of repair we need to carry out means that you will have to leave your property temporarily. If your repair falls into this category, you must leave the property for the period we tell you.
If you choose to stay in your home while we are carrying out the repairs, you accept that we do not have to provide you with temporary facilities.
If you have to leave your property, we will try to help you, including offering you temporary alternative accommodation. We will not be able to carry out certain types of repair at your property until you have left, and our responsibilities for these repairs may be suspended during this period.
We will try to find temporary accommodation that is nearby and similar to your own, but we cannot guarantee this.
If you do not accept a temporary property we offer you, you must tell us in writing whether or not you want us to continue looking. If you do not make this clear, we will assume that you want us to continue looking so we will continue to postpone some of your repairs.
If we do not say you have to leave your property, you must decide whether you want to stay there during any work or find yourself temporary alternative accommodation.
We would arrange temporary accommodation having regard for your needs. You might be entitled to a disturbance allowance.
