Council tenants now have a bigger say on the way that their homes are managed. Community Housing Partnerships were set up by councillors and introduced in October 2002 and the first meetings were held in March 2003.
Through a partnership of tenants, leaseholders, freeholders and councillors, Community Housing Partnership boards have the power to:
There are 6 Community Housing Partnerships, 5 consisting of 6 councillors, 5 tenants, 1 leaseholder, 1 freeholder and 2 independent, and 1 Community Housing Partnership board which consists of 4 councillors, 3 tenants, 1 leaseholder, 1 freeholder and 2 independent who meet every 2 months.
